    Just do it

Just do it means growing by taking action. It's a slogan I struggled to grasp. Planning everything was my way. But recently, I decided to act. And surprisingly, it's going well. I feared the unknown, but hurdles became chances to learn. It's about progress through action.

    Un-sabotaging my life

Sabotage  /ˈsæb.ə.tɑːʒ/ to intentionally prevent the success of a plan or action I know it sounds dramatic, but sometimes dramatics are needed for one’s eyes to be opened to reality. This year more than ever before, I’ve had people tell me things like “You’ve got so much in you.”, “There’s so much that you can do, do something!”, “You can do more than you’re doing now.”, etc, etc. You get the drift? So do I. That’s why I think it’s time to take action and undo some of the damage I’ve done in my own life. (Again, pretty dramatic, but it’s still true.) It is easier said than done. Telling someone…

    Enhancing my work experience

Some of you might remember that in November 2021 I started working again after a 10-month break. Working in a new environment gave me the chance to experience work in a different way than I had before, so much so that I now even enjoy working. (Am I allowed to say this?)  Lots of lessons were learned in the past year and a half, but three of these significantly enhanced the way I experience work. They might help you too, so here they are: 1. Embrace mistakes – you’ll get it right eventually I started working in communications, a field I had zero experience in. In fact, at my old job my managers even kept saying I needed to work on my communication skills. I decided to follow their…

Coulda, shoulda, woulda … but didn’t

It’s been a full year since I posted anything on here and I sure am ashamed. The last time I posted a blog, I mentioned that I was going to be consistent, yet I failed miserably. I could’ve written more blogs if I did my best. I would’ve written more blogs if I took the time for it. I should’ve written more blogs if I really wanted to be consistent. However, I didn’t write more blogs.  This coulda-woulda-shouda-didn’t situation has happened several times over the last few years and it’s a situation that I no longer wish to be in. It’s actually a hindrance to the amazing life I’m trying to live. And it wasn’t until a…

    New job, new mindset

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog and that’s because I started working again. Can you believe it? Yes, I’m back at the office, but things are very much different now. I’m not working fulltime and I’m not in the corporate world. This new job is parttime and more on the social spectrum of things.  On the 1st of November 2021, I started working as a communications advisor for an aid organization. It all started when I decided I wanted to work again. Initially I wanted to do volunteering work because I like the causes these organizations stand for. Then, praise be to God, I found out that some…
