Coulda, shoulda, woulda … but didn’t
It’s been a full year since I posted anything on here and I sure am ashamed. The last time I posted a blog, I mentioned that I was going to be consistent, yet I failed miserably. I could’ve written more blogs if I did my best. I would’ve written more blogs if I took the time for it. I should’ve written more blogs if I really wanted to be consistent. However, I didn’t write more blogs.
This coulda-woulda-shouda-didn’t situation has happened several times over the last few years and it’s a situation that I no longer wish to be in. It’s actually a hindrance to the amazing life I’m trying to live. And it wasn’t until a little mental breakdown some months ago that I decided I need to step up and put in effort if I want to achieve something.
The problem with coulda-woulda-shoulda is that you can easily develop a victim mentality that will likely leave you with regrets. Life can be amazing, but you’ll need to put in effort to get to where you want to be. A lack of effort will literally get you nowhere. You need to act upon things, or you might lose the opportunity for now. Yes, it’s good to be hopeful and believe that the opportunity will come again someday, but why miss out on something when it is right in front of you?
Many people will say [when they’re old and grey] that they have regrets, and they wish they had done things differently. Minimize the regrets now by grabbing the opportunities that come your way (do think things through!!) and stop being a victim because of your lack of effort. I’m obviously speaking to myself here, but if it applies to you as well, then feel free to join me.
I publicly declare that I’m going to put in effort, take control and see where that gets me. At least in the end I’ll know I had a major part to play in the great results and not just in the regrets.
By the way, the next time you notice I haven’t posted a blog in a while, please do remind me how expensive it is to keep a website running. I don’t like wasting money, so this reminder would be the push I need to keep writing. T for thanks.
